We work on the application of nanotechnology into the biomedical field, both in the diagnostic process and the therapeutic part. We currently divide our efforts into two different but complementary areas.

   On one hand we carry out fundamental research in the area of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) contrast agents, Magnetic Hyperthermia (MH) effectors, and controlled drug delivery, starting from the Chemistry and going all the way to the in vitro/in vivo validation.

    On the other, we focus on applied problems in the biomedical field trying to develop imaging (MRI, optical imaging) and therapy (chemotherapy, MH) solutions in fields like Immunomodulation, Oncology or Neuroscience.

The AmTheNa Group is integrated within the Health Cluster of the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL).
